RESOLUTION OF TH JERSEY CIT MUCIPAL COUNCIL AUTORIING
ACCEPTANCE OF A GRA FROM TH NORm. JERSEY TRASPORTATION
PLAG AUTORI'S FISCAL YEAR 2012- 2013 SUBREGIONAL STUDY PROGRA
FOR TH MORR CANAL GREENWAY PLA
COUNCIL AS A WHOLE OFFERED AN MOVED ADOPTION OF THE FOLLOWIG
RESOLUTION:
WlREAS,the Nort Jersey Transporttion Planing Authority has solicited proposals for the
Fiscal Years 2012-2013 Subregional Study Progr; and
WHREAS, Jersey City is eligible to apply for funding under the FY 2012-2013 Subregional
Study Progr; and
WHREAS, the City has identified the need toprepare a plan for an off-road trail for bicyclists
and pédestrans on the right-of-way of the former Morrs Canal, to the greatest extnt possible;
and .
WHREAS, it has been determined that this project would benefit the citizens of Jersey City as
:well ästhe nortern New Jersey region; and .
WHREAS, the NJT A has awarded the City of Jersey City a Subregional Study Program grant
in the amount of $176,000. .
BE IT THREFORE RESOL VED;that the City of Jersey City does hereby authorize the
execution of a contract for the receipt of such a grant from the Nort Jersey Transporttion
Planing Authority and does fuer,. upon the execution of such a contract, authorize the
expenditue lof such fuds pursuant to the terms of said contract between the City of Jersey City
and the Nort Jersey Transporttion Planing Authority.
BE IT FUTHR RESOLVED, that the Mayor and/or Business Administator are authorized
to sign the application and that they or their successors in said titles are authoried to sign the
contrct andàny other documents necessar in connection
