RESOLUTION AUTHORIING TH RENEWAL OF A CONTRACT WITH AMER
AI INC. FOR HV AC AN BOILER MAENANCE FOR VAROUS PUBLIC
BUlDINGS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS/ DIVSION OF
BUlDINGS AN STRET MATENANCE
COUNCIL
THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
OFFERED AND MOVED ADOPTION OF
WHREAS, Resolution No. 09-555, approved on July 15, 2009, awarded a one-yèar contract in the
amount of $ 139,800.00 to Amber Air for HV AC and Boiler Maintenance for various public buildings for
the City of Jersey City (City), Department of Public WorkslDivision of Buildings and Street
Maintenance; and
WHREAS, the bid specifications provided the City with the option to renew the contract for two
additional one-year periolls with the renewal contract price being the preceding year's contract price as
adjusted according to the Federal Consumer Price Index published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics in the
months of May
20 i 0 to May 201 i; and .
WHREAS, Resolution No. 10-551, approved on August 04,2010, exercised the first option to renew
the contract for the amount of $ 142,079.70; and
WHEREAS, the contrctor has been performing the services in an effective and effcient manner; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:I 1-15, the City desires to exercise the final option and renew the
contract for an additional one-year period effective as öf July 16,2011 and ending July 15,2012; and
WHREAS, the total cost ofthe contract renewal is $144,921.29; and
WHREAS, funds in the amount of $40,000.00 are available in Buildings and Streets Operating
Account No. 11-01-201-26-291-310.
NOW, THREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Municipal Council of the City of Jersey City that:
i) The .Mayor or Business Administrtor is authorized to renew the agreement with Amber Air
for HV AC and Boiler Maintenance för various public buildings for the Deparent of Public
WorkslDivision of Buildings and Street Maintenance;
2) The renewal contract is for a one-year period effective as of July 16,201 i, and the total cost
of the contrct shall not exceed $144,921.29;
3) Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 5:30-5.5(a), the continuation of the contract afer the
expenditue of funds encumbered in the 20 i 1 calendar year temporar budget, shall
be subject to the availability and appropriation of suffcient fuds in the 2011
calendar year permanent budget and in the subsequent calendar year budget; and
4) The award of this contract shall be subject to the condition that the vendor provides
