6.2 Card Standards and Specifications<br />

Refer to the chip technical specifications additional information.<br />

6.2.3.2 <strong>Maestro</strong> PayPass Contactless Payment Functionality<br />

Issuers may add the <strong>Maestro</strong> PayPass contactless payment functionality to their<br />

Chip Cards. If an Issuer chooses to add this functionality to its Chip Cards, it<br />

must comply with the requirements set forth in this Rule 6.2.3, the <strong>Maestro</strong><br />

PayPass technical specifications, and the Identity Standards, as may be in effect<br />

from time to time.<br />

6.2.3.3 Card Authentication<br />

Chip Cards must support dynamic online CAM. In addition, Chip Cards that<br />

perform Transactions offline must support offline CAM. Although both static<br />

and dynamic offline CAM are permitted, it is strongly recommended that Chip<br />

Cards support dynamic offline CAM.<br />

All <strong>Maestro</strong> PayPass Cards must support Combined Data Authentication (CDA)<br />

and must not support other forms of offline CAM on the contactless interface.<br />

6.2.3.4 Chip Card and Chip Transaction Plans—Europe Region Only<br />

6.2.4 Mobile Payment Device Standards<br />

A Mobile Payment Device may support <strong>Maestro</strong> PayPass functionality. If<br />

an Issuer chooses to add this functionality to its Mobile Payment Device,<br />

the application software, personalization data, and all other aspects of the<br />

functionality must comply with the requirements set forth in the Standards,<br />

including but not limited to, the applicable technical specifications, and the<br />

Identity Standards, as may be in effect from time to time. Issuers should also<br />

refer to the mobile payment security guidelines set forth in Security Guidelines<br />

for Mobile Payment Solutions.<br />
