6.2 Card Standards and Specifications<br />

In Brazil, all solicitations, applications, advertisements, disclosures, and other<br />

material and information regarding any A/CB program (collectively for the<br />

purposes of this rules chapter only, “Solicitations”) must refer prominently to<br />

the offering as a “<strong>MasterCard</strong> débito Card” and may not position the offering<br />

as something other than a Card. The A/CB brand name or logo may not be<br />

positioned as adding superior utility to the Card.<br />

Any Solicitation regarding any <strong>MasterCard</strong> “débito” A/CB program must<br />

prominently and integrally feature the <strong>MasterCard</strong> Mark accompanied by the<br />

“débito” identifier and must identify the Issuer.<br />

6.2 Card Standards and Specifications<br />

6.2.5 Signature Panel<br />

The following replaces Rule 6.2.5 of Chapter 6, “Issuing,” in part 1 of this<br />

rulebook:<br />

In Brazil, no signature panel or laser engraved signature is required on Cards<br />

bearing the <strong>MasterCard</strong> Mark accompanied by the proprietary “débito” graphic<br />

identifier. However, if a signature panel is used, it must be the authorized<br />

<strong>MasterCard</strong> signature panel in compliance with the Identity Standards.<br />

6.3 Optional Card Security Features<br />

The following replaces Rule 6.3 of Chapter 6, “Issuing,” in part 1 of this<br />

rulebook:<br />

In Brazil, Issuers must comply with the security features for Cards bearing the<br />

<strong>MasterCard</strong> Mark accompanied by the proprietary “débito” graphic identifier<br />

as set forth in the Identity Standards.<br />

6.4 PIN and Signature Requirements >><br />

In addition to the <strong>Rules</strong> in Chapter 6, “Issuing,” Rule 6.4 in part 1 of this<br />

rulebook, the following applies in Brazil:<br />

The Cardholder must be verified by a PIN for any <strong>Maestro</strong> PayPass Transaction<br />

or Contactless Magnetic Stripe Transaction initiated with a Card issued in Brazil<br />

that exceeds the <strong>Maestro</strong> PayPass Transaction amount ceiling limit.<br />

A CVM is not required for a Contactless Magnetic Stripe Transaction that is<br />

less than or equal to BRL 50.<br />
