6.2.1 Encoding Standards<br />

6.2.1.3 Primary Account Number (PAN)<br />

In addition to the rules in Chapter 6, “Issuing,” Rule 6.2.1.3 (1), paragraph 5 in<br />

part 1 of this rulebook, the following applies:<br />

All UK <strong>Maestro</strong> Cards issued within the Territory must fall within the BIN range<br />

675900 to 675999 and 676770 to 676774.<br />

6.2.5 Signature Panel<br />

In addition to the rules in Chapter 6, “Issuing,” Rule 6.2.5 in part 1 of this<br />

rulebook, the following applies:<br />

Issuers must indent print on the card the CVC 2 either on the signature panel<br />

or in a white panel adjacent to the signature panel.<br />

6.3 Optional Card Security Features<br />

Issuers may use the UKCA cheque guarantee hologram up to 30 June 2011.<br />

Cards issued after this date cannot carry this hologram.<br />

7.1 Acquirer Obligations and Activities<br />

7.1.2 Before Signing a Merchant<br />

In addition to the rules in Chapter 7, “Acquiring,” Rule 7.1.2, in part 1 of this<br />

rulebook, the following apply:<br />

Before signing a Merchant Agreement with a potential Merchant, an Acquirer<br />

must check whether or not the potential Merchant, or any of its outlets,<br />

appears on the MATCH files. If an entry appears, any resulting contact with<br />

another Acquirer must be performed by the Acquirer itself (that is, must not be<br />

delegated to agents).<br />

7.1.16 MATCH<br />

Acquirers must refer and report to Merchant Alert to Control High-Risk<br />

Merchants (MATCH).<br />

Refer to the Security <strong>Rules</strong> and Procedures manual for information about the<br />

standards and reason codes that must be supported.<br />
