At the time of each Transaction, the Acquirer must transmit, in the field(s)<br />

specified in the applicable technical specifications, the generally accepted<br />

location, city, and country of the POS Terminal or Terminal substantially the<br />

same as it appears on any POS Terminal or Terminal receipt provided.<br />

9.8.6.2 Terminal Location Reporting<br />

Each Principal is required to provide the Corporation with current and accurate<br />

information regarding its and its Sponsored Affiliates’ Terminals by updating<br />

quarterly the Location Administration Tool (LAT) located on <strong>MasterCard</strong><br />

Connect.<br />

9.8.7 Authorization Response Time<br />

9.8.7.1 Issuer Response Time Requirements<br />

An Issuer must respond to an ATM authorization request within twenty (20)<br />

seconds. If a response is not received within twenty (20) seconds, a time-out<br />

message will be generated to the Acquirer or the Transaction will be authorized<br />

using Stand-In Processing Service.<br />

An Issuer must respond to a POS authorization request within ten (10) seconds.<br />

If a response is not received within ten (10) seconds, a time-out message will<br />

be generated to the Acquirer or the Transaction will be authorized using the<br />

Stand-In Processing Service.<br />

Processing Service.<br />

9.8.7.2 Acquirer Response Time Requirements<br />

Each Acquirer must wait a minimum of thirty (30) seconds for a Transaction<br />

response, before timing out a Transaction and forwarding a timeout message<br />

to the Issuer, unless a different timer value is agreed to by the Acquirer and<br />

the Corporation.<br />

Each Acquirer must ensure that its POS Terminals and Terminals adhere to<br />

the minimum timeout requirements.<br />
