9.12 Floor Limit Guidelines (POS Transactions)<br />

9.11.2 Authorized Gateway Services<br />

Only Gateway ATM Transactions for Gateway services formally authorized<br />

by <strong>MasterCard</strong> are allowed to use the Interchange System for routing and<br />

settlement of funds. Listed below are the currently authorized Gateway services:<br />

1. PLUS System USA, Inc.<br />

2. VISA USA, Inc.<br />

9.11.3 Error Resolution<br />

All Gateway Customers must refer disputes relating to the processing of<br />

Gateway ATM Transactions according to the rules that govern the individual<br />

ATM Transactions.<br />

Error resolution is supported within Gateway Processing to the extent provided<br />

in the <strong>Rules</strong>, which govern the individual Transactions.<br />

When a Gateway Customer uses the Corporation for Gateway Processing,<br />

error resolution requests must be processed in accordance with Chapter 11,<br />

“Exception Item Processing,” of the <strong>Rules</strong>.<br />

9.11.4 Technical Requirements for Gateway Processing<br />

Processors that use Gateway Processing are subject to all response time,<br />

availability, and data transmission requirements defined in the <strong>Rules</strong> and the<br />

technical specifications of the Corporation.<br />

9.12 Floor Limit Guidelines (POS Transactions)<br />

The Corporation establishes floor limit values as a guideline for Customers<br />

to follow in their authorization process. The floor limit value is a maximum<br />

monetary amount above which the Merchant must obtain authorization before<br />

completing the chip Transaction.<br />

9.12.1 Magnetic Stripe/Chip Applicability<br />

Magnetic stripe Transactions must be authorized online.<br />

Chip Transactions below or equal to the lesser of the offline limit established<br />

by the Issuer in the chip or the floor limit for POS Terminals defined in the<br />

Quick Reference Booklet may be authorized offline. Chip Transactions above<br />

the lower of these two limits must be authorized online.<br />
