9.10 Currency Conversion Rates<br />

The Acquirer failure rate is calculated based on the monthly volumes of POS<br />

or ATM Transactions processed through each Acquirer connection to the<br />

Interchange System and is calculated according to the formula below:<br />

The sum of the following ISO 8583 response codes:<br />

1. 13 invalid amount<br />

2. 30 format error<br />

Divided by the total number of POS and ATM Transactions processed through<br />

the Acquirer connection to the Interchange System.<br />

9.9.3 Noncompliance Assessments for Substandard<br />

Performance<br />

An Issuer or Acquirer that fails to meet the Corporation’s performance standards<br />

may be subject to the following regional noncompliance assessments:<br />

Occurrence Penalty<br />

First occurrence USD 15,000<br />

Second occurrence within the twelve<br />

(12)-month period following the first<br />

occurrence<br />

Third and any subsequent occurrence within<br />

the twelve (12)-month period following the<br />

second occurrence<br />

USD 15,000<br />

USD 20,000<br />

After completion of a full calendar year without any violations, a subsequent<br />

violation is counted as a first violation.<br />

9.10 Currency Conversion Rates<br />

When currency conversion is performed by the Corporation, the exchange rates<br />

will be determined by the Corporation. These exchange rates are updated daily.<br />

9.11 Gateway Processing—ATM Transactions Only<br />

9.11.1 Liability<br />

The liability of the Corporation to Customers that use Gateway Processing<br />

for ATM Transaction processing errors is limited to actual damages up to the<br />

amount of the erroneous ATM Transaction(s).<br />
