Today the manufacturing <strong>of</strong> a pharmaceutical drug is almost totally the responsibility <strong>of</strong>:<br />

• the chemical industry for the preparation <strong>of</strong> the drug substance (active principle) and<br />

the excipients used for preparing the DP (finished product)<br />

• the pharmaceutical industry for the preparation <strong>of</strong> the DP itself.<br />
