4.1.3 MULTI-DIMENSIONAL APPROACHES<br />

These approaches can be divided into three types:<br />

1 H-bonds are not considered. This approach can be applied only for<br />

nonpolar and weak polar liquids.<br />

2 H-bonds taken into account by one parameter.<br />

3 H-bonds taken into account by two parameters.<br />

Blanks and Prausnitz 8,9 proposed two-component solubility parameters. They decomposed<br />

the cohesion energy into two contributions <strong>of</strong> polar and non-polar components:<br />
