790rRadio Strength Monitor "learn" the transmitter's identity code. To do this:1. Turn the Test Transmitter on.2. Turn the left hand control switch on the Radio Strength Monitor toSingle.The top LED (9) flashes rapidly, indicating that the unit needs to learna new Transmitter Code.3. Hold the Test Transmitter so that light from its Activity LED can shineon the Learn Sensor on the Radio Strength Monitor.Note: Do not do this in strong sunlight. The infra red radiation from the sunswamps the signal from the transmitter, and the 790r can not learnthe 734r.4. Activate the Transmitter. (Press and release the Tamper bar at theback of the Transmitter.)LED 9 glows continuously when the Radio Strength Monitor successfullylearns the Transmitter's identity.The Radio Strength Monitor will now display the received signal strengthfrom the learned Transmitter.Note: The Radio Strength Monitor will "forget" the Transmitter identity whenyou switch the Monitor off.Background R.F. SignalTo monitor the signal strength of background R.F. or interference present onthe same frequency turn the left hand control switch to Bkgnd. Note that theRadio Strength Monitor will indicate any transmission present on thefrequency.All Valid TransmittersTo monitor the signal strength from a collection of valid transmitters turn theleft hand control switch to All. The display shows the strength of all signalsreceived from any 7xxr coded transmitters (whether or not the Monitor haslearned their identity).Site SurveyThe Radio Strength Monitor can be used with the Test Transmitter to find thebest site for a Radio Detector.To assess the level of background R.F. present, switch the Radio StrengthMonitor on and turn the left hand control switch to Bkgnd. Check the readingat various places in and around the property. The display should show alevel no higher than 0.Now turn the left hand control switch to Single.
