Conservation <strong>of</strong> our mounta<strong>in</strong> forests for future has now become a priority more than <strong>in</strong> anyother time. S<strong>in</strong>ce it is a rapidly dw<strong>in</strong>dl<strong>in</strong>g natural resource, timely steps should be taken toprevent the destruction <strong>of</strong> what is rema<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g. If not, this important eco-system would disappearfrom earth even before the <strong>in</strong>tricacies <strong>of</strong> it are fully understood.Conservation <strong>of</strong> our montane forests for future has now become a priority more than <strong>in</strong> anyother time.
