Displaying user's data layer
You have seen in the "Adding personal drawing Marks" chapter that the marks you plot (marks, lines, areas, etc.) are
recorded onto the active user's data layer. The name of this active layer is displayed in the chart's window title.
When you have created several drawing user's data layers, you may want to record some marks on one layer file, and
others to a different layer.
Two ways for choosing the user's data layer on which you will save your next marks:
128
1 - Directly from the Toolbar
• Click the plotting tool to pull down the drawing layer's list.
• Choose a drawing layer in the list .
• Click again to valid your choice.
• At this moment the layer's name is replaced by the new one in the Window's title.
2 - From menu toolbar
• Choose [Set Active Layer] from the [Edit] menu to show the available layer's list.
• Click a drawing layer for activating it .
• Simultaneously the layer's name appears in the Window's title.
Note: when the active layer is hide and you plot marks, the layer is automatically activated and appears again
on the chart.
Two ways to specify which drawing user's data layer you wish to display or hide
IMPORTANT
You can use the "Show / hide" function to improve drawing user's data display visibility and to avoid of
having too many information on screen. Two ways to show or hide one or several layers you wish to display
together on the chart and those you wish to hide:
1 - Directly from the chart toolbar:
• Simple click the layer zone to check or uncheck quickly the group of layers.
• At this moment all layers are displayed or not.
• Click the arrow nearest the layer zone to pull down the layer's list.
• Click the layer that you wish to display on the chart.
2 - from the catalog :
All drawing user's data layers are listed in a catalog. The catalog allows to choose the layer that you wish to
show or hide on the chart. Refer to the related topic to learn more about Layer's catalog.
Always be aware that each time you plot a mark or an event, it is recorded onto the active user's data layer whose name
is displayed in the Chart window's title.
