Note: when the waypoint has been passed the parameters associated to this waypoint appear in gray lines The active route window displayed indicates the total distance to cover, the Time To Go ( TTG ), the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA). These same values are also specified for each waypoint of the course as well as headings and distances for each segment. Note: the software uses the present speed of the ship and updates automatically the values of the course as speed changes. For more details see related topic: "Selected Route Center" Cancelling the Active Route Each time you need to modify your trip, you will have to cancel the actual Active Route before. Several ways for cancelling the Active Route : Right-click an Active Route leg and choose "Cancel Active Route" in the contextual menu list. Or select [Cancel Active route…] from the [Route] menu, this action will save and close the Active Route. The software erases the Active Route on the chart and the Active Route Center will be empty . Restart Active Route At any time this function enables you to restart or go back to the started point of the Active Route. Choose the [Restart Active Route] from the [Route] and you will restart again your Active Route. Activate Search and Rescue Function (SAR) S.A.R SAR Seach and rescue First plot a line using the Compas tool. (Be careful: if a planning route is already opened, this function will automatically close it without warning message)
Then choose [New Search and Rescue Route..] from the [Route] menu MaxSea then displays a dialog box which allows you to choose: Active Route 1. direction of parallel lines generation by checking the corresponding box (clockwise or counterclockwise), 2. line number that you wish generate, 3. distance between 2 lines, 4. Click OK and a planning route consisting of parallel lines is displayed on the chart. This is an example of SAR done with direction = 90° clockwise and lines = 5 in dialog box. If you wish, you can activate this route by selecting [Activate route] from the [Route] menu. Automatic pilot connection In this chapter, you have discovered how the software offers the helmsman all the assistance possible to ensure that he follows the course correctly. If your computer is connected to an autopilot, you can control this from the software: If you want the software to control the Autopilot, you first have to configure the Input/Output. To do so, select [Data Input/Output Settings] from [Utilities] menu. The dialog box is opened and allows you to configure the autopilot. 77
