MaxSea Operator Manual version 12.6 Radar Image Overlay on Chart Displaying Radar Image Overlay on Chart 396 3. Press [ENTER] to validate. There are several ways to use Radar with your MaxSea including radar overlay. You can display several windows and choose one of them to show your radar overlay. Radar overlay is when the radar image is viewed on the top of the chart. When First running MaxSea the Radar overlay button is turning on by default: and the Radar overlay palette settings appears in the chart toolbar. If the Radar is power off or the , the "No Radar Source" warning will appear on the chart. To display the radar overlay on the chart : • Click the "Radar Overlay" information button in the chart toolbar to toggle Radar display on/off : • Click the down arrow to its right will show the drop down list of available Radar display: 1. Choose Trails to display moving historic (second trace echo). 2. Choose Rings to display them on the chart. If the Radar unit is turned on and is properly connected to the computer. The Radar image provides on the opened chart is automatically displayed in the radar operating area as shown below:
To center on the chart in the radar operating zone, simple click the "Auto center" button in the Chart toolbar and choose "NavNet Radar" in the drop down list. Depending on your Radar you can configure Radar overlay with MaxSea to: 1. Get the best radar picture by changing the gain for example. 2. Modify the radar picture display by changing the echo color for example. 3. Set up the signal processing. 4. Set up the guard alarm 5.
