MaxSea Operator Manual version 12.6 Weather Information button in the Chart toolbar pop up menu under the Weather Information button is the default mode display as following: 200 Wind Waves Surface Pressure 500mb Pressure Sea Surface temperature Altimetry Current Chlorophyll Fig. 1: Weather Information menu Weather Information displayed as floating palette >> if you click and drag the vertical grey bar and place weather data menu anywhere you want. (Fig. 2 - displayed in floating palette mode - Fig.3 -displayed in toolbar docked to the Window chart . ) >> Click each item to show / hide corresponding weather data on the chart. To control the Weather Data Information presence in the Weather File 1. Colored icon means that corresponding weather data is available in the opened weather file. 2. Icon appears surrounded in red when weather data is selected and displayed on chart as shown below in Fig.1 for the wind data. 3. Icon appears in gray means that corresponding weather data is not available in the opened weather file. To change how the weather data information is displayed on chart You can use arrows, contour lines, color, Bubbles with text and Wind feather when displaying weather information. You can change display of each data layer by selecting the [Option: weather...] item from [Weather] menu. (see related topic: Option: weather) Note: functions previously describe are available from the [Weather Layers] item from the [weather] menu. Weather Forecast 1. click and drag the vertical grey bar (as shown with 2 in Fig. 3) and place weather data menu anywhere you want around the Chart window. 2. As shown in following Fig. 3 , all icons appears in gray. this means that either no weather file is opened or all data layers are hidden. 3. Click on Weather Information button to display data layers or to open "GRIB" file if it is not. When a layer is displayed on chart the corresponding icon is displayed with blue border. Wind Data Layer is hidden Wind Data Layer is displayed Different looks can be achieved using the [Option: weather...] from the [Weather] menu as well as by choosing which mode is applied on each weather data layer. MaxSea allows several display options: Available data in a GRIB file depend on your order selection. A weather file can contain up to eight types of data: Wind, Waves, Current, Altimetry, Sea Surface Temperature, 201
