GPS on the chart
Your GPS on the chart
The GPS/vessel symbol is drawn in each open chart window that contains the vessel’s position. It indicates the boat
position displayed on the chart at the point currently indicated by the GPS system connected to the PC. Your GPS on the
chart has properties and they must be properly configurated. Following paragraphs provide information on adjustments to
your boat properties as needed:
1. Drift and surface speed vector
2. Vector direction display
3. Security Circle & HDOP
4. Waypoint Auto-Scale function
5. "Out of limits" positioned
6. Man overboard function
7. Use the Dead Reckoning Function to Make a Test Route
Ground speed, Surface speed and Drift vectors
If you have a GPS connected, MaxSea can display the Ground heading vector on the chart. If you have additional
equipment (heading, Speed through water, ...) MaxSea will display Surface speed vector and Drift vector in addition to
the Ground Speed vector.
To display and modify vectors, select [Option: GPS/Track...] from the [Utilities] menu.
Select the "Misc" to call up the window zone in which you choose the "Vector direction display" option
• Select "Vector direction display" option
• Select corresponding Heading and Speed in the " Data Input/Output Settings Configuration".
How to define vectors
Select Data Input/Output Settings choice: To display:
