Fleet tracking
Fleet tracking overview
By means of a modem and a communication software, the user has access to a server which supplies him with all the
latest positions of targets to be followed. This communication utility then records a file containing the positions.
Any software can send position reports to MaxSea and after, using the PosMaxSea database.
As for example, the fleet tracking software which is named Std C Detect, can read and translate files as PosMaxSea
(*.txt) or Volvo or ARGOS format into the PosMaxSea database which is a Microsoft Access 2000 type.
MaxSea reads new records from this database. If a position date is earlier than the Mobile date from MaxSea, it will be
automatically updated in Maxsea.
MaxSea never deletes records from the database. This can only be done from the software of the position records which
writes new positions and replaces the previous. It detects the presence of such file and has all the targets positions
displayed on the chart.
