Trawl Positioning<br />

The Pro <strong>version</strong> of <strong>MaxSea</strong> Fish with the module enables you to display data provided by PACHA, Geonet or Simrad<br />

ITI, the depth acoustic positioning system for trawls.<br />

Introduction<br />

The PACHA , Geonet or Simrad ITI system allows to determine the location, geometry and environment of a trawl in<br />

order to safely and efficiently perform trawling operations.<br />

This system makes it possible to determine in a very precise way the site, positioning in order to<br />

improve the security and to optimize the performances of each spinning operation .<br />

For example, thanks to the accurate measurements of the trawl location, it is possible to operate very close to the<br />

obstacles and wrecks where the catch of fish can be very much increase.<br />

Configuration<br />

To receive data from PACHA , Geonet or Simrad ITI transponders, the configuration required is the following :<br />

• <strong>MaxSea</strong> Pro with 3 serial ports<br />

• Pacha Geonet Simrad ITI module.<br />

• 1 serial port for Position ( GPS )<br />

• Gyro<br />

• 2 serial ports for the PACHA , Geonet or Simrad ITI system.<br />

Connection<br />

NMEA standard.<br />

All the data coming from the system PACHA arrive on PACHA DAP1 serial port. The configuration in<br />

<strong>MaxSea</strong> DAP2 is there only to simulate position coming from DAP2. The DAP2 data comes in fact from<br />

DAP1 serial port.<br />

Input-Output configuration<br />

1. Select [Input/Output Settings] from the [Utilities] menu. The following dialog box is opened :<br />

2. Click the Trawl tab<br />

3. Add the PACHA/GEONET system by clicking on "Add Instrument".<br />

4. Select a the port com which is connected to the system<br />

5. Click next to activate the wizard which lets you to choose between several system.<br />
