ARPA's<br />

To display the ARPA label on the chart go to [Targets] menu and choose [Target Label Displayed on Chart]<br />

This label depends to your choice and if needed to change the label displayed on the chart go to [Targets] menu<br />

and select [Option Targets:..] then [ARPA...] to call up the dialog box which allows you to choose a type of label<br />

between three choices Name, Call sign + Name or Name + Sea Surface Temperature.<br />

The Name of the mobile is the label text displayed on chart by default.<br />

Various information from target (SOG, heading, TCPA, etc.) are displayed and updated in real time .<br />

Get received information from an ARPA target<br />

1. Using the Select point tool double click on the target symbol to bring up the Targets properties dialog<br />

box.<br />

2. Right-click on an ARPA target to call up the context menu and choose "Targets properties"<br />

Tracking on an ARPA target<br />

1. Using the Select point tool go to the [Targets] menu and choose [Track on].<br />

2. Right-click on an ARPA target to call up the context menu and choose "Track on"<br />

How to configure the Time Out<br />

This option depends to the Radar settings<br />

• Select eventually the time limit (in seconds) for a radar target is considered as lost.<br />

• To do it, select [Data input/output settings…] from the [Utilities] menu.<br />

• Click on the Radar tab to choose the instrument for which you want to configure.<br />

• Select a port for the Radar and choose ARPA and then click on the "Advanced settings…" button.<br />

A windows appears and allows you to adjust:<br />

1 - Target Time Out for all targets that belong to the selected instrument (45 sec<br />

time out by default).<br />

2 - Identifying number for each instrument connected. By default this ID number is<br />

assigned. This allows to easily identify the owner displayed targets.<br />

Note: If you choose the option "Do not use time out" , a target which once appeared since <strong>MaxSea</strong>'s launch is<br />

never marked as lost.<br />
