Setting Up FURUNO Radar Overlay in <strong>MaxSea</strong><br />

Radar OVERLAY<br />

- Following documentation is dedicated to <strong>MaxSea</strong> working with FURUNO Radar connected ( such as FAR21X7<br />

equipments .)<br />

To display FURUNO Radar Overlay on the chart :<br />

• Click the "Radar Overlay" information button in the chart toolbar to toggle Radar display<br />

on/off<br />

• When Radar Overlay is on, FURUNO Radar toolbar appears in the Chart toolbar. See also<br />

related topic to use "FURUNO Radar Palette"<br />

• This tool also allows you to display available Radar options :<br />

1. Choose Trails to display moving historic (second trace echo).<br />

2. Choose Rings to display them on the chart.<br />

If the Radar unit is turned on and is properly connected to the computer. The Radar image provides<br />

on the opened chart is automatically displayed in the radar operating area.<br />

You will learn in this section how to adjust Radar Overlay with <strong>MaxSea</strong>.<br />

Choose [Option: Radar...] from the [Utilities] menu to call up the dialog box in which you can :<br />

1. Adjust FURUNO Radar Gain<br />

2. Adjust FURUNO Radar Display<br />

3. Adjust FURUNO Radar Signal Processing<br />

Radar Toolbar<br />

By default when you click on the Radar Button the following radar toolbar is displayed at the same time.<br />

When signal is transmitted from radar, the TX button become activated and it is surrounded with red color as it is shown<br />

above.<br />

To call up the "Radar" toolbar go to the [Display] menu and select [Radar].<br />
