<strong>MaxSea</strong> <strong>Operator</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> <strong>version</strong> <strong>12.6</strong><br />

To open a chart, select [Open Chart...] from [File] menu and the open file dialog will appear and list all the charts<br />

founded into My Documents folder.<br />

You can also select [Open] from [File] menu to search and found a chart into your PC. If necessary, pull down by clicking<br />

the pop-up menu Format of file and select Charts. Then pull down the pop-up menu File of type and select the M.C. Kit<br />

(BSB) from the File of type pop-up menu.<br />

Insert the Maptech Chart Kit Region 4 CD-ROM. After a short while, select [Open] in the [File] menu, then select the CD<br />

drive:<br />

1. Contents of CD-ROM are displayed as a list in the dialog box.<br />

2. Open the "BSBCHART" folder.<br />

3. Then click one of the files (*.kap extension) of the list, and finally click Open.<br />

Note: <strong>MaxSea</strong> automatically open all the charts of the folder.<br />

The dialog box with warning about the use of digitized documents appears. Click I AGREE to agree.<br />

Catalog of BSB Charts<br />

A BSB CD-ROM <strong>version</strong> 2.0 contains a catalog of charts, representing a region of north America.<br />

Each region is associated to a number. To use your BSB charts with <strong>MaxSea</strong>, you will have to know the number of the<br />

region that is on your CD.<br />

All opened BSB v4 charts in <strong>MaxSea</strong> are automatically added to <strong>MaxSea</strong> Charts Catalog:<br />

To open <strong>MaxSea</strong> Charts Catalog, select [Charts Catalog...] in the [File] menu.<br />

All the useful information linked to your charts are shown in this catalog<br />

1. Chart Number Reference,<br />

2. Name of the Manufacturer and here Maptech will be written,<br />

3. Its Chart title,<br />

4. Its reference scale,<br />

5. Its recording status allows organization of the charts which are usable in <strong>MaxSea</strong> and those of which are not<br />

because of a detected problem. See also below available statuses list,<br />

6. Its revision Date,<br />

7. Its Edition Date,<br />

8. Its Region of membership,<br />

9. The file location path on the hard disk,<br />

10. The last date the <strong>MaxSea</strong> charts were used.<br />

Besides its informative function, the catalog will become useful as a real cartography management tool:
