4. Specify a list of DOE-2 code-words for the MATERIAL keyword in aLAYERS instruction (see Fig. 111.18). Then refer to the LAYERSinstruction, by its U-name, in the LAYERS keyword of a CONSTRUCTIONinstruction. Finally, refer to the CONSTRUCTION instruction, byits U-name, in the CONSTRUCTION keyword of an EXTERIOR-WALL instruction. This will yield a dynamic, or "delayed", exterior wall. Thismethod utilizes DOE-2 prespecified materials stored in the DOE-2MATERIALs Library. These materials are described in detail inChap. X of this manual. This method allows the user to specify aLAYERS instruction with up to 9 materials. This method is identicalto Method 3) except the materials are not ASHRAE-prespecifiedmaterials, but rather DOE-2-prespecified materials.5. Specify each individual material (by THICKNESS, CONDUCTIVITY,DENSITY, and SPECIFIC-HEAT or by RESISTANCE) in a MATERIAL instruction(see Fig. III.19). Then refer to all the MATERIAL instructions,by a list of their U-names, in the MATERIAL keyword of aLAYERS instruction. Then, refer to the LAYERS instruction, by itsU-name, in the LAYERS keyword of a CONSTRUCTION instruction. Finally, refer to the CONSTRUCTION instruction, by its U-name, inthe CONSTRUCTION keyword of an EXTERIOR-WALL instruction. Thiswill yield a dynamic, or "delayed", exterior wall. This methodallows the user to ~pecify unusual constructions.6. The user may place additional MATERIALs, LAYERS, and CONSTRUCTIONsinto the DOE-2.Library for subsequent simulation runs. For moreinformation on creating, or adding information to the DOE-2Library, see Sec. C of this chapter. There is, of course, yet another but less obvious method for specifyingan exterior wall. That is to use the LIKE keyword in an EXTERIOR-WALLinstruction to repeat a previously specified exterior wall.II I. 60 (Revised 5/81)
