The conductance given in glass manufacturers' data sheetsusually includes the outslde air film resistance for a windspeed of 7.5 mph (summer) or 15 mph (winter). The followingequation can be used to obtain the corresponding value ofGLASS-CONDUCTANCE:GLASS-CONDUCTANCE = (-B- - Rfilmt1,where~fi 1mfilmU is the overall conductance in Btu/ftl-hr-oF andis the outside air film resistance in (Btu/ft2-hr-OF)-1.can be obtai ned fromR film= 1/(-0.001661*V 2 + 0.302*V + 1.45),where V is the wind speed in knots. For example, let U = 0.64for a wind speed of 7.5 mph. Then V = 7.5/1.15 = 6.52 knots,andR film1/(-0.001661*42.51 + 0.302*6.52 + 1.45) = 0.30.GLASS-CONDUCTANCE = (0~64 - 0.30)-1 = 0.79.II1.89 (Revised 5/81)
