16. WINDOWThis instruction is used to specify the size, position, and number ofwindows and the properties of the glass. Each WINDOW instruction applies tothe EXTERIOR-WALL instruction preceding it and describes the windows on thatexterior wall. Note: Glass doors in exterior walls should be treated aswindows, rather than doors.U-nameWINDOWLIKEGLASS-TYPECONDUCT-SCHEDULESHADING-SCHEDULESHADING-DIVISIONSKY-FORM-FACTORGND-FORM-FACTORINF-COEFMULTIPLIERXYSETBACKmay be specifiedThis command word tells LOADS that the data to followspecify a window or set of windows. The factor in the schedule may be lessthan, equal to, or greater than 1.0. The factor is used asa multiplier against GLASS-CONDUCTANCE. This represents thechanging of conductance associated with storm windows, insulated shutters, etc.Any accessories that are addea to the window (such as astorm window) that change the conductance may also significantlychange the light transmission properties of thewindow. If so, an appropriate matching SHADING-SCHEDULEshould be used. If the CONDUCT-SCHEDULE is not input, theSChedule value will default to one for all 24 hours.accepts as input the U-name of a previously entered schedulethat defines hourly values of a multiplier on theSHADING-COEF (and the transmission and absorptance determinedby GLASS-TYPE-CODE). This represents the shadingeffect of moveable devices such as blinds, curtains, orshutters. Note that items that change light transmissionalso affect conductance. If the SHADING-SCHEDULE is notinput, the schedule value will default to one for al I 24hours.are identical to the keywords in the EXTERIOR-WALLinstruction.position the window in the surface coordinate system ofthe wall containing the window. See Sec. A.5 of thischapter, Locating Windows and Doors, for a detaileddescription.111.107 (Revised 5/81)
