5. LOAD-ASSIGNMENTThe LOAD-ASSIGNMENT instruction is used to describe the sequence in whichthe PLANT-EQUIPMENT is to be assigned to serve the load. In addition, theLOAD-ASSIGNMENT instruction allows the user to specify the portion of theheating or electric load to be met by purchased steam or chilled water andelectricity or by on-site generation.A separate instruction is required for each type (heating, cooling, orelectric) of load served by the equipment. If these data are omitted, theprogram will schedule the operation of equipment in an order that seeks toachieve operation at the OPERATING-RATIO (see PART-LOAD-RATIO instruction) foreach piece of equipment. If the LOAD-ASSIGNMENT command is specified, it mustbe used in conjunction with a LOAD-MANAGEMENT command.U-nameLOAD-ASSIGNMENTTYPELOAD-RANGEAny unique user-defined name must be entered to identifythis instruction.This command word informs the PDL Processor that the datato follow will specify the sequence in whichPLANT-EQUIPMENT is to be turned on and operated to meetvariations in load.precedes a code-word selected from Table V.? to describethe type of load served by the assigned equipment.is the load range, in millions of Btu's per hour, that mustbe met by the assigned equipment. For example, if one unitis to provide the necessary cooling energy up to a maximumload of 500,000 Btu/hr, the user specifiesLOAD-RANGE = 0.5.If a combination of two units is to supply the cooling loadfrom 500,000 Btu/hr to 1,000,000 Btu/hr, the user wouldenter a second LOAD-RANGE instruction, having the followingkeyword specification:LOAD-RANGE = 1.0.V.52 (Revised 5/81)
