TWR-TEMP-CONTROLTWR-WTR-SET-POINTTWR-WTR-THROTTLEDIRECT-COOL-MODEDC-MAX-TDC-CHILL-WTR-TDIRECT-COOL-SCHDIRECT-COOL-KWaccepts a keyword that defines how the exiting watertemperature is to be determined. The default, FLOAT,means that the exiting temperature will float with thewet-bulb temperature. The alternative code-word, FIXED,means that the exiting water temperature is fixed. (SeeTWR-WTR-SET-POINT keyword description).specifies the exiting water temperature set point whenTWR-TEMP-CONTROL is set to FIXED.is the effective throttling range about the set pointdefined in TWR-WTR-SET-POINT. This is used only whenTWR-TEMP-CONTROL has been set to FIXED. Often, incentrifugal chillers, the tower temperature controller isset to maintain a fixed temperature at full load and toallow the temperature to drop at partial loads. In thatcase, this keyword is the difference between thetemperature setting at full load and the temperaturesetting at no load.accepts a code-word that defines the direct coolingcontrol scheme, if any. The default is NOT-AVAILABLE.Code-word STRAINER-CYCLE allows cooling tower water to bepassed directly into the chilled water loop. Code-wordTHERMO-CYCLE simulates the use of the compressionchillers as heat exchangers without electric input to thecompressor.specifies the maximum outdoor dry-bulb temperature forwhich direct cooling is allowed. (OF)specifies the maximum chilled water temperature for whichdirect cooling is allowed. (oF)accepts a U-name of a schedule. When the hourly valuespecified in the schedule is 1.0, direct cooling isavailable. When the value is 0, direct cooling is notavailable. (U-name)specifies the electrical input to direct coolingauxiliary equipment. If DIRECT-COOL-MODE = THERMO-CYCLE,the user should specify DIRECT-COOL-KW as kW/ton ofoperating capacity for the period during which thecompression chillers are operating in this mode. In theTHERMO-CYCLE mode of operation, the chiller electricalinput is assumed to be DIRECT-COOL-KW multiplied by theoperating capacity multiplied by the part load ratio. IfDIRECT-COOL-MODE = STRAINER-CYCLE, the user shouldspecify DIRECT-COOL-KW as the electrical input to thecondenser water pumps (and other added equipment),calculated as kW/ton of SYSTEMS peak cooling load. Inthe STRAINER-CYCLE mode of operation, the condenser waterV.29 (Revised 5/81)
