REPORT SS-B - SYSTEM MONTHLY lOA,D,S SUMMARYSS-B provides a summary of the heating and cooling required by all thezones (combined) served by the HVAC system. The items summarized are zonecooling, zone heating, zone baseboard heating, and preheat energy. Many HVACsystems have heating and cooling devices that serve only one zone. Forexample, in a single duct reheat system, there are reheat coils for eachzone. This report lists, in addition, the preheat energy required and thepeak preheat load. The preheat coils raise the temperature of the mixed airto a specified temperature. NOTE: When the user specifies baseboard heatingin a zone, the modeling is similar to reheat coils, but the heating suppliedis reported under the heading BASEBOARDS.1. The user name of the HVAC system (SYST-l) is printed at the end of thereport title.2. ZONE COIL COOLING ENERGY (millions of Btu) and MAXIMUM ZONE COIL COOLINGENERGY (thousands of Btu/hr) are, respectively, the monthly total andpeak sensible and latent cooling. This is cooling supplied by coilslocated in the zone(s). The cooling of the primary supply air in thesystem is summarized 'in Report SS-A. Loads met by OX units are reportedhere and an electrical demand is passed to PLANT. (For RESYS only:These columns report instead the cooling accomplished by naturalventi lation.)3. ZONE COIL HEATING ENERGY (millions of Btu) and MAXIMUM ZONE COIL HEATINGENERGY (thousands of Btu/hr) are the monthly totals and peak heating, respectively, supplied by coils or a furnace (oil- or gas-fired) in thezones. The furnace loads, met here in SYSTEMS, are not passed to PLANTbut rather a utility demand for oil or gas is passed to PLANT. Baseboardheating is not included. In this example, the zone coils are electricresistance coils and the electrical demand will be passed to PLANT. (ForRESYS only: These columns report the heating load on the furnace.)4. BASEBOARD HEATING ENERGY (millions of Btu) and MAXIMUM BASEBOARD HEATINGENERGY (thousands of Btu/hr) are, respectively, the monthly totals andpeak heating supplied by baseboard heaters in all the zones served by thesystem (SYST-l). These loads are passed to PLANT unless BASEBOARD-SOURCEis set equal to ELECTRIC, GAS-FURNACE, or OIL-FURNACE, in which case theload is met here in SYSTEMS and a utility demand is passed to PLANT.5. PRE-HEAT COIL ENERGY (millions of Btu) and MAXIMUM PRE-HEAT COIL ENERGY(thousands of Btu/hr) are, respectively, the monthly totals and peakheating supplied by the preheat coil(s) to raise the temperature of themixed air (return air plus makeup air) to a specified value, PREHEAT-T.These loads are passed to PLANT unless PREHEAT-SOURCE is set equal toELECTRIC, GAS-FURNACE, or OIL-FURNACE, in which case the load is met herein SYSTEMS and a utility demand is passed to PLANT. (For RESYS only:The columns report instead the electrical input, in Btu's, for thefurnace fan, when the fan is running.)V I 1. 59
