15. EXTERIOR-WALL (or ROOF)This instruction is used to specify the size, construction, and positionof an exterior surface of a space such as an exterior wall, roof, orexterior floor (such as above a breezeway or carport). EXTERIOR-WALLand ROOF are synonymous within the program. Each EXTERIOR-WALL instructionapplies to the SPACE instruction immediately preceding it anddescribes one of the exterior walls of that space.U-name may be used to identify each wall. A logical namingconvention minimizes errors of omission.EXTERIOR-WALL (or ROOF) This command word tells LOADS that the data tofollow specify an exterior wall, roof, or exterior floor.LIKECONSTRUCTIONGND-REFLECTANCESKY-FORM-FACTORGND-FORM-FACTORmay be used to copy data from a previously U-namedEXTERIOR-WALL instruction.is used to identify, by U-name, the previously enteredCONSTRUCTION instruction that defines the type ofconstruction used in this wall. It can be used also toidentify the code-word of a CONSTRUCTION in the DOE-2CONSTRUCTIONs Library.is the solar reflectance of the ground; that is, thefraction of sunlight incident on the ground that isreflected. If no entry is made for SKY-FORM-FACTOR and GND-FORM-FACTOR,they are calculated by the program by using the TILT angle of the walland ignoring the presence of BUILDING-SHADEs. The user should specifyhis own values for SKY-FORM-FACTOR and GND-FORM-FACTOR if he wishes toaccount for the shading of diffuse radiation from sky and ground.111.100 (Revised 5/81)
