In both the preceeding examples both items of equipment are assumed to berunning at their RATEO-CFM. Otherwise, an additional correction would havebeen made in Example 1 using RATED-HEIR-FCFM and an additional correctionwould have been made in Example 2 using RATED-CCAP-FCFM.SYSTEM-EQUIPMENTCOOLING-CAPACITYinforms the SOL processor that the data to follow are related to the system characteristics. A unique user-definedname must be entered in the U-name field of each SYSTEMEQUIPMENT instruction. Omission of this entry in the"subcommand" will cause an error.is the total capacity (at ARI rated conditions) of eitherthe chilled water cooling coil or the direct expansioncooling system, depending upon which the user is attemptingto specify. Note: When specifying COOLING-CAPACITY forpackaged OX cooling units with drawthrough fans, SUPPLY-EFFand SUPPLY-STATIC (see SYSTEM-FANS subcommand) should beomitted and SUPPLY-DELTA-T should be set equal to zero ifthe COOLING-CAPACITY being defined includes cooling of thefan motor. Otherwise, double accounting for supply fanmotor heat will be experienced. For better latent simulationthe SUPPLY-DELTA-T should be specified and theCOOLING-CAPACITY adjusted to describe the unit without thefan. The program-designed COOLING-CAPACITY (for OX systems)is at ARI rated conditions and fan power and heatare not included.COOL-CAP-FT * is the U-name of a bi-linear or bi-quadratic equation thatdescribes the cooling coil, or cooling system, capacity(dependent variable) as a function of entering wet-bulbtemperature (independent variable) and outside dry-bulbtemperature (independent variable) for direct expansioncoils or entering wet-bulb temperature (independent variable)-andentering dry-bulb temperature (independentvariable) for chilled water coils. If the bi-linear orbi-quadratic being specified is for a Unitary HydronicHeat Pump System (HP), the equation is describing the coilcooling capacity (dependent variable) as a function ofentering wet-bulb temperature (independent variable) andentering water temperature (independent variable). Thebi-linear or bi-quadratic equation must be input to theprogram and U-named in a CURVE-FIT instruction. Since thecooling coil, or system, will seldom operate at the ARIrated conditions, the equation identified by COOL-CAP-FTis necessary to describe the "shape of the change" in therated capacity.* Input for this keyword should be made only if the user is not satisfiedwith the default values built into the program. Additionally, if theuser decides to specify a U-name, it should not be one of the reserved"Default Curve U-names" in Table IV.39. Furthermore, these U-names areapplicable only to the SYSTEM-TYPEs stated in the table.IV.241 (Revised 5/81)
