The second approach involves the use of the PARAMETRIC-INPUT and PARAMETERinstructions (see Sec. B.2 and Sec. B.6 of this chapter). This approach maybe used when the variations involve only the values of one or more keywordsentered in a previous INPUT sequence for the same program. In this case, these values are defined using the PARAMETER instruction during the firstINPUT sequence, and are assigned to the proper keywords. Then, in place ofsubsequent INPUT sequences to that program, the user enters PARAMETRIC-INPUTsequences, which include only PARAMETER instructions to modify the parametricvalues assigned to the proper keywords. Thus, if the previously illustratedinstruction sequence had involved only variations on a single keyword value(in this case, MAX-HUMIDITY), the sequence might also have been input asfollows.INPUT FOR LOADS .•.............................................................................END ..COMPUTE LOADS ..INPUT F OR SYSTEMSPARAMETERMAXHUM = 60........................................SCI = SYSTEM-CONTROLMAX-HUMIDITY = MAXHUMEND "COMPUTE SYSTEMSINPUT FOR PLANTENDCOMPUTE PLANTPARAMETRIC-INPUT FOR SYSTEMSPARAMETERMAXHUM = 50END "COMPUTE SYSTEMSCOMPUTE PLANTPARAMETRIC-INPUT FOR SYSTEMSPARAMETERMAXHUM = 40ENDCOMPUTE SYSTEMSLDL instructions forthe LOADS programOne or more PARAMETERinstructions (MAXHUM is theU-name of the parameterkeyword; 60 is the first valuefor MAXHUM)SDL instructionsfor the SYSTEMS program11.9PDL instructionsfor the PLANT programOne or more PARAMETERinstructions (50 is thesecond value for MAXHUM)One or more PARAMETERinstructions (40 is thethird value for MAXHUM)(Revised 5/81)
