Whenever the U-name of a parametric keyword is encountered, as a valuefor a subsequent keyword, the value of that parametric keyword is substitutedas the value for the keyword. Note: Only keyword values can be changed withPARAMETER. U-names of commands-cannot be changed with PARA~lETER.Two types of values may be assigned to a parametric keyword, the first ofwhich is a numeric quantity. In addition to the direct substitution of theparametric value as the value for a keyword, a numeric parameter may also bemultiplied by a second numeric quantity when assigned to a keyword. This isaccomplished by entering the word TIMES immediately after the parametrickeyword U-name, followed by a number.Example:INPUT LOADSPARAMETERPI = 10WI = WINDOWWIDTH = PIW2= WINDOWWIDTH = PI TIMES 1.1ENDCOMPUTE LOADSSTOPThe above instructions would cause the width of windows WI and W210.0 feet and 11.0 feet, respectively.to beParametric keywords may also be assigned non-numeric values.
