C. WEATHER FILESThree groups of weather files are available in the 00E-2 library. Inaddition, several types of weather files can be processed by the weather processingprograms to produce files for use by 00E-2.1. TRYThe 00E-2 library has one year of data for each of 60 different US weatherstations selected according to the ASHRAE Test Reference Year (TRY) procedure.*Table VIII.1 lists the TRY cities now available and Appendix VIII.O containsweather data summaries for these cities (except St. Louis, r~issouri).A manual for the TRY data, published by the National Climatic Center inAsheville, North Carolina, is reproduced in Appendix VIll.A. Summaries of theTRY data for each city are included in Appendix VIII.E.The user should exercise caution in applying TRY data. The TRY should bereliable for making comparisons of design or retrofit options. However, aspointed out in the TRY Manual, a TRY is not considered sufficiently typical toyield reliable estimates of average energy requirements over several years.2. California, CTZOne year of data for each of 16 climate zones in the State of Californiais included. These data were assembled by Loren Crow for the California EnergyResources Conservation and Development Commission.A map showing the boundaries of the California climate zones is given inFig. VIII.1.
