The control processor examines all COMPUTE instructions to determineif the intermediate output files of a program are needed as'input files to asubsequent program. If not, the writing of those files is suppressed. However,if the user desires to save these intermediate files for use in asubsequent job to avoid re-execution of one or more of the programs, theSAVE-FILES instruction must be used. For example, if the user desires to execute the LOADS and SYSTEMSprograms during one job, and save the intermediate output files from SYSTEMSto be used in an extensive analysis using the PLANT program, the SAVE-FILESinstruction would cause the SYSTEMS intermediate output files to be writteneven though no COMPUTE PLANT .. instruction was encountered. The appropriate intermediate output files must be saved using theappropriate control cards or JCL for a particular installation, anrl must belikewise retrieved at the beginning of subsequent runs.16. STOPThe STOP instruction indicates that the end of all inpLSimulation programs has been reached.data for allThe instruction takes the form of simplySTOP ..and directs the control processor to terminate data input and beginSimulation, assuming COMPUTE instructions were entered and no fatal errorswere detected.Rules: 1. The STOP instruction may be used only as a control instruction, that is, it may not occur between an INPUT instruction and an ENDinstruction.I1.35 (Revi sed 5/81)
