It is not necessary for the user to crosscheck his chosen U-names againstthe code-words that have been reserved in the <strong>DOE</strong>-2 MATERIALs Library andCONSTRUCTIONs (ASHRAE) Library. Previously established U-names have precedenceover code-words. Example: When a name is specified for the CONSTRUCTION keywordin an EXTERIOR-WALL instruction, the program first searchs its U-name listfor the name. If the name is found on the list, it is used as a U-name. Ifthe name is not found on the U-name list, the program then searchs the <strong>DOE</strong>-2CONSTRUCTIONs Library to see if the name is a code-word. It is not wise, however,to deliberately choose U-names that are also code-words. This can makedebugging or subsequent review of an input listing unnecessarily confusing.111.68 (Revised 5/81)
