For severe abdominal pain, add 15grams <strong>of</strong> Yan Hu Suo (Rhizoma Corydalis), 12 grams <strong>of</strong>Chuan Lian Zi (F<strong>ru</strong>ctus Toosendan), and nine grams <strong>of</strong>Xiang Fu (Rhizoma Cyperi). If there is severe rib-side painand distention, add nine grams each <strong>of</strong> Yu Jin (TuberCurcumae), Chuan Lian Zi (F<strong>ru</strong>ctus Toosendan), and QingPi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Viride). For nausea withaversion to food, add 12 grams <strong>of</strong> Zhu Ru (Caulis BambusaeIn Taeniis), nine grams each <strong>of</strong> Ji Nei Jin (EndotheliumCorneum Gigeriae Galli) and Shan Zha (F<strong>ru</strong>ctus Crataegi),and three grams <strong>of</strong> Huang Lian (Rhizoma Coptidis).ACUPUNCTURE & MOXIBUSTION: Qi Men (Liv 14),Zhang Men (Liv 13), Zhi Gou (TB 6), Yang Ling Quan (GB34), Yin Ling Quan (Sp 9)ANALYSIS OF FORMULA: Draining Qi Men and Zhang Menrectifies the qi, resolves depression, and stops pain locally.Draining Zhi Gou moves the qi and clears heat in the threeburners, stops pain in the rib-side, and frees the flow anddescends.
