Ifliver depression transforms into fire, add nine grams each <strong>of</strong>Dan Pi (Cortex Moutan) and Zhi Zi (F<strong>ru</strong>ctus Gardeniae). Ifthere is a severe qi vacuity, add nine grams each <strong>of</strong> HuangJing (Rhizoma Polygonati) and Ling Zhi (Ganoderma), andsix grams <strong>of</strong> Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng). For severe bloodvacuity, add 15 grams <strong>of</strong> He Shou Wu (Radix PolygoniMultiflori). For blood stasis due to liver depression, add ninegrams <strong>of</strong> Dan Shen (Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae), and threegrams <strong>of</strong> San Qi (Radix Notoginseng), powdered and takenwith the strained decoction.ACUPUNCTURE & MOXIBUSTION: Zu San Li (St 36), NeiGuan (Per 6), Feng Long (St 40), Tai Chong (Liv 3)ANALYSIS OF FORMULA: Draining Tai Chong and Nei Guancourses the liver and resolves depression. Supplementing ZuSan Li fortifies the spleen and boosts the qi, thus promotingthe engenderment and transformation <strong>of</strong> blood.
