Ling Tai is an empirical point fortreating skin diseases due to heat. It should also be drained.Supplementing San Yin Jiao nourishes the blood and regulatesmenst<strong>ru</strong>ation. Draining local points in the affected areamoves the qi and quickens the blood, thus stopping pain.ADDITIONS & SUBTRACTIONS: In case <strong>of</strong> hot, swollen,red, painful joints, add a shi points or points selected accordingto the location <strong>of</strong> pain. SPLEEN-STOMACH VACUITY WEAKNESS PATTERNMAIN SYMPTOMS: Limb wilting, limpness, and lack <strong>of</strong> strengthwhich gradually gets worse accompanied by scanty eating, loosestools, facial edema and lack <strong>of</strong> luster, lassitude <strong>of</strong> the spirit, apale, tongue with thin, white fur, and a fine, weak pulseNOTE: This pattern does not typically manifest by itself in<strong>Western</strong> patients. Usually, it is complicated by wind colddamp or wind damp heat evils. In fact, it is spleen qi vacuitywhich causes the defensive qi which allows these evils toinvade and enter the body.
