If there is depressive heat in the lungs,stomach, and intestines, add nine grams <strong>of</strong> Huang Qin(Radix Scutellariae). If there is depressive heat in the livercausing a bitter taste in the mouth and irritability, add ninegrams each <strong>of</strong> Zhi Zi (F<strong>ru</strong>ctus Gardeniae) and Dan Pi(Cortex Moutan). If there is a bland taste in the mouth andthick, white tongue fur, add nine grams <strong>of</strong> Pei Lan (HerbaEupatorii).ACUPUNCTURE & MOXIBUSTION: Feng Fu (GV 16), Bai Hui (GV20), San Yin Jiao (Sp 6), Shen Men (Ht 7), Tai Chong (Liv 3)ANALYSIS OF FORMULA: According to the Ling Shu (SpiritualPivot), Feng Fu below and Bai Hui above govern the flow <strong>of</strong> qiand blood in the head. When Feng Fu is needled with evensupplementing-even draining method and Bai Hui is moxaed,they nourish the sea <strong>of</strong> marrow and free the flow <strong>of</strong> the orifices.Supplementing San Yin Jiao fortifies the spleen, booststhe qi, and nourishes the blood. Supplementing Shen Mennourishes the blood and supplements the heart.
