Our <strong>commitments</strong><br />
In <strong>Nestlé</strong>’s Corporate Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Pr<strong>in</strong>ciples, which lay the<br />
foundations for everyth<strong>in</strong>g we do, we commit <strong>our</strong>selves to<br />
environmentally susta<strong>in</strong>able bus<strong>in</strong>ess practices. At all stages<br />
of the product life cycle, we strive to use natural res<strong>our</strong>ces<br />
efficiently, fav<strong>our</strong> the use of susta<strong>in</strong>ably managed renewable<br />
res<strong>our</strong>ces <strong>and</strong> target zero waste. We also seek to strengthen<br />
<strong>our</strong> ability to meet <strong>our</strong> <strong>commitments</strong> by provid<strong>in</strong>g <strong>our</strong><br />
employees with tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> education on environmental<br />
susta<strong>in</strong>ability.<br />
Our public <strong>commitments</strong> to environmental susta<strong>in</strong>ability<br />
have recently been updated to better reflect the material issues<br />
of <strong>our</strong> bus<strong>in</strong>ess. The revised <strong>commitments</strong>, which <strong>in</strong>clude a<br />
new commitment, are as follows:<br />
• Improve res<strong>our</strong>ce efficiency <strong>in</strong> <strong>our</strong> operations;<br />
• Improve the environmental performance of <strong>our</strong> packag<strong>in</strong>g;<br />
• Assess <strong>and</strong> optimise the environmental performance of<br />
<strong>our</strong> products;<br />
• Provide climate change leadership;<br />
• Preserve natural capital, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g forests;<br />
• Provide mean<strong>in</strong>gful <strong>and</strong> accurate environmental <strong>in</strong>formation<br />
<strong>and</strong> dialogue; <strong>and</strong><br />
• Promote transparency <strong>and</strong> proactive, long-term<br />
engagement <strong>in</strong> climate policy.<br />
