Our commitment to work aga<strong>in</strong>st corruption <strong>and</strong> bribery is<br />

<strong>in</strong>tegral to the Corporate Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Pr<strong>in</strong>ciples, the <strong>Nestlé</strong> Code<br />

of Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Conduct <strong>and</strong> The <strong>Nestlé</strong> Supplier Code. Our<br />

Human Res<strong>our</strong>ces, Legal <strong>and</strong> Group Compliance departments<br />

work together to tra<strong>in</strong> employees <strong>in</strong> these policies <strong>and</strong> to<br />

monitor behavi<strong>our</strong>. Ensur<strong>in</strong>g local compliance is the<br />

responsibility of each country bus<strong>in</strong>ess leader.<br />

Anti-corruption is <strong>in</strong>cluded with<strong>in</strong> the Corporate Compliance<br />

Framework, a dedicated compliance function that reports to<br />

the Group Compliance Committee <strong>and</strong> the Executive Board.<br />

<strong>Nestlé</strong> also demonstrates its commitment to bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>in</strong>tegrity<br />

through be<strong>in</strong>g a signatory to the United Nations Global<br />

Compact. Pr<strong>in</strong>ciple 10 of the compact requires signatories to<br />

work aga<strong>in</strong>st corruption <strong>in</strong> all its forms.<br />

As well as comply<strong>in</strong>g with all national laws, we expect all<br />

<strong>Nestlé</strong> bus<strong>in</strong>ess entities to respect <strong>in</strong>ternationally recognised<br />

human rights st<strong>and</strong>ards set out <strong>in</strong>:<br />

• The eight International Lab<strong>our</strong> Organization (ILO)<br />

Fundamental Conventions;<br />

• The ILO Tripartite Declaration;<br />

• The International Bill of Human Rights;<br />

• The OECD Guidel<strong>in</strong>es for Mult<strong>in</strong>ational Enterprises (2011);<br />

• The UN Global Compact’s Ten Pr<strong>in</strong>ciples; <strong>and</strong><br />

• The UN Framework <strong>and</strong> Guid<strong>in</strong>g Pr<strong>in</strong>ciples on Bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>and</strong><br />

Human Rights.<br />

Engagement <strong>and</strong> collaboration<br />

The achievement of <strong>our</strong> human rights <strong>and</strong> compliance goals is<br />

not someth<strong>in</strong>g we can reach alone. To ensure <strong>our</strong> work <strong>in</strong><br />

these areas is directed effectively, we have formed<br />

partnerships with key external organisations. In particular, we<br />

work closely with the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR)<br />

to roll out <strong>our</strong> Human Rights Due Diligence Programme<br />

(HRDDP) throughout <strong>our</strong> operations worldwide <strong>and</strong> with the<br />

Fair Lab<strong>our</strong> Association (FLA) to address lab<strong>our</strong>-related issues,<br />

<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g child lab<strong>our</strong>, <strong>in</strong> <strong>our</strong> supply cha<strong>in</strong>s.<br />
