Our Creat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Shared</strong> <strong>Value</strong> proposition is based on compliance with <strong>our</strong> bus<strong>in</strong>ess pr<strong>in</strong>ciples, corporate policies<br />
<strong>and</strong> <strong>commitments</strong>, national laws <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternational st<strong>and</strong>ards. We aim to be exemplary <strong>in</strong> respect<strong>in</strong>g human rights<br />
<strong>and</strong> good lab<strong>our</strong> practices throughout <strong>our</strong> bus<strong>in</strong>ess activities.<br />
By assimilat<strong>in</strong>g the highest bus<strong>in</strong>ess st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>and</strong> codes <strong>in</strong>to <strong>our</strong> policies, management systems <strong>and</strong> activities<br />
across the globe <strong>in</strong> this way, we seek to elim<strong>in</strong>ate issues such as child lab<strong>our</strong>; work aga<strong>in</strong>st corruption <strong>and</strong><br />
bribery; make it easier to report <strong>and</strong> address potential breaches of compliance; <strong>and</strong> assess human rights impacts.<br />
We believe this will make us more effective <strong>in</strong> <strong>our</strong> approach to compliance.<br />
<strong>Nestlé</strong> became one of the first companies to adopt the UNGP Report<strong>in</strong>g Framework developed by Shift <strong>and</strong><br />
Mazars. Together with external stakeholders, we have identified a list of 11 salient issues – those human rights at<br />
risk of the most severe negative impacts through <strong>our</strong> activities <strong>and</strong> bus<strong>in</strong>ess relationships. Go<strong>in</strong>g forwards, they<br />
will provide the framework to monitor <strong>our</strong> progress aga<strong>in</strong>st <strong>in</strong>ternational st<strong>and</strong>ards, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the UNGP.<br />

Child lab<strong>our</strong><br />
We are address<strong>in</strong>g the issue of child<br />
lab<strong>our</strong> <strong>in</strong> the harvest<strong>in</strong>g of some of <strong>our</strong><br />
raw materials. Importantly, we must also<br />
underst<strong>and</strong> its root causes, to ensure<br />
behavi<strong>our</strong>al change is susta<strong>in</strong>able.<br />
Compliance<br />
Our people, <strong>and</strong> others we affect, need<br />
to underst<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> use <strong>our</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternal <strong>and</strong><br />
external grievance tools.<br />
Anti-corruption<br />
We need to make sure that <strong>our</strong><br />

people have the tools they require to<br />

Monitor<strong>in</strong>g child lab<strong>our</strong><br />
By the end of <strong>2015</strong>, 120 067 cocoa<br />
farmers <strong>and</strong> community members had<br />
been sensitised to child lab<strong>our</strong> as part of<br />
the Child Lab<strong>our</strong> Monitor<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong><br />
Remediation System (CLMRS).<br />
Enabl<strong>in</strong>g better <strong>in</strong>tegrity <strong>and</strong><br />
grievance report<strong>in</strong>g<br />
Our <strong>in</strong>ternal Integrity Report<strong>in</strong>g System is<br />
now operational <strong>in</strong> 100% of <strong>our</strong> markets.<br />
