We operate an <strong>in</strong>ternational tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> conference centre<br />

(Rive-Re<strong>in</strong>e) <strong>in</strong> Switzerl<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong>, <strong>in</strong> <strong>2015</strong>, it hosted tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g for<br />

around 2695 employees. The percentage of female tra<strong>in</strong>ees<br />

cont<strong>in</strong>ues to rise, <strong>and</strong> now st<strong>and</strong>s at almost 46% of<br />

participants. Rive-Re<strong>in</strong>e provides a place where <strong>Nestlé</strong><br />

employees from around the world can meet <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>teract,<br />

shar<strong>in</strong>g best practice from different cultures.<br />

Our Leadership Through Safety® programmes are designed<br />

for us, <strong>in</strong>tegrat<strong>in</strong>g Alletrust’s successful methodology. They<br />

rely on cognitive science to drive behavi<strong>our</strong>al change.<br />

We have cont<strong>in</strong>ued the roll-out of <strong>our</strong> IT-based Global<br />

Learn<strong>in</strong>g Management System, iLearn@<strong>Nestlé</strong>, which is now<br />

complete. It allows employees to manage their own<br />

development <strong>and</strong> helps managers track the overall<br />

development of their team.<br />

By 2017 – <strong>Nestlé</strong> Corporate Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Pr<strong>in</strong>ciples are fully<br />

embedded <strong>in</strong> all c<strong>our</strong>ses at <strong>our</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternational tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />

centre <strong>and</strong> e-learn<strong>in</strong>g made available to all employees.<br />

At the end of 2014, we successfully embedded Creat<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>Shared</strong> <strong>Value</strong> learn<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>to all <strong>in</strong>ternational tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g centre<br />

c<strong>our</strong>ses. We are follow<strong>in</strong>g the same process with the <strong>Nestlé</strong><br />

Corporate Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Pr<strong>in</strong>ciples. We have, therefore, <strong>in</strong>troduced a<br />

new objective to focus <strong>our</strong> efforts. Dedicated sessions on the<br />

<strong>Nestlé</strong> Corporate Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Pr<strong>in</strong>ciples have been <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong><br />

many of <strong>our</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternational c<strong>our</strong>ses <strong>in</strong> <strong>2015</strong>, <strong>and</strong> will be fully<br />

embedded <strong>in</strong> all <strong>in</strong>ternational tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g centre c<strong>our</strong>ses by 2017.<br />

The 10 <strong>Nestlé</strong> Corporate Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Pr<strong>in</strong>ciples are m<strong>and</strong>atory<br />

statements for all <strong>Nestlé</strong> managers <strong>and</strong> employees <strong>and</strong> are<br />

<strong>in</strong>tegrated <strong>in</strong> bus<strong>in</strong>ess plann<strong>in</strong>g, audit<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> performance<br />

reviews. They are associated with specific policies <strong>and</strong><br />

reference codes, where compliance procedures are outl<strong>in</strong>ed.<br />

They are at the foundation of <strong>our</strong> company’s culture, which<br />

has developed over the span of 150 years. We are committed<br />

to mak<strong>in</strong>g sure that <strong>our</strong> entire company is managed accord<strong>in</strong>g<br />

to them <strong>and</strong> require adherence to them from all <strong>our</strong> employees<br />

around the world.<br />

Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g on the <strong>Nestlé</strong> Corporate Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Pr<strong>in</strong>ciples<br />

provides <strong>our</strong> people with <strong>in</strong>creased appreciation of the <strong>Nestlé</strong><br />

Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Model, allow<strong>in</strong>g them to make better <strong>and</strong> more<br />

aligned decisions <strong>and</strong> elevate the quality of support they can<br />

provide to decision-makers. We want <strong>our</strong> leaders to become<br />

role models <strong>in</strong> do<strong>in</strong>g bus<strong>in</strong>ess the <strong>Nestlé</strong> way.<br />

Our objectives<br />

By <strong>2015</strong> – We aim to have all <strong>Nestlé</strong> employees<br />

tra<strong>in</strong>ed at least once on the Nutrition Quotient (NQ)<br />

Foundation Module.<br />

By 2016 – We will embed Nutrition Quotient (NQ)<br />

tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>to the new employee orientation programme<br />

at all of <strong>our</strong> work sites.<br />

As a lead<strong>in</strong>g Nutrition, Health <strong>and</strong> Wellness company, we<br />

provide engag<strong>in</strong>g nutrition tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g based on the most up-todate<br />

public health priorities. This Nutrition Quotient (NQ)<br />

tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g is made available to all <strong>Nestlé</strong> employees, regardless<br />

of their work site <strong>and</strong> work<strong>in</strong>g conditions. The programme<br />

seeks to ensure <strong>our</strong> employees have a good underst<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g of<br />

nutrition <strong>and</strong> it empowers them to use this knowledge <strong>in</strong> daily<br />

life – at work <strong>and</strong> home. The tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g has progressive levels<br />

cover<strong>in</strong>g subjects such as nutrients <strong>and</strong> food groups.<br />

We have made great progress towards tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g all<br />

employees on the NQ Foundation Module, with 94.4% tra<strong>in</strong>ed<br />

by the end of <strong>2015</strong>, <strong>and</strong> we extended <strong>our</strong> commitment to<br />

address all <strong>our</strong> jo<strong>in</strong>t ventures <strong>and</strong> employee turnover. We will<br />

also embed NQ tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>to the new employee orientation<br />

programme at all of <strong>our</strong> work sites by 2016.<br />
