<strong>in</strong> agriculture<br />

We are an active member of a number of associations,<br />

organisations <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>dustry-wide <strong>in</strong>itiatives that promote<br />

environmentally susta<strong>in</strong>able agricultural practices. These<br />

<strong>in</strong>clude:<br />

• The Susta<strong>in</strong>able Agriculture Initiative (SAI) Platform<br />

– we cont<strong>in</strong>ue to support the water, coffee, dairy, meat, <strong>and</strong><br />

fruit <strong>and</strong> vegetables work<strong>in</strong>g groups with<strong>in</strong> this <strong>in</strong>dustry<br />

organisation;<br />

• The 4C Association – we co-chair this multi-stakeholder<br />

organisation, which promotes the Common Code for the<br />

Coffee Community <strong>and</strong> addresses susta<strong>in</strong>ability issues <strong>in</strong><br />

the coffee sector;<br />

• The IDH Susta<strong>in</strong>able Coffee Program – a public–private<br />

partnership seek<strong>in</strong>g to extend susta<strong>in</strong>able coffee production<br />

<strong>in</strong>to ma<strong>in</strong>stream markets <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>crease susta<strong>in</strong>able green<br />

coffee sales to 25% <strong>in</strong> <strong>2015</strong>;<br />

• The UNGC Food <strong>and</strong> Agriculture Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Pr<strong>in</strong>ciples<br />

– we are a found<strong>in</strong>g participant of the UNGC’s pr<strong>in</strong>ciples<br />

<strong>and</strong> were <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> their launch <strong>in</strong> 2014; <strong>and</strong><br />

• The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) – <strong>our</strong> commitment<br />

on no deforestation aligns with the CGF’s goal to achieve<br />

zero net deforestation by 2020, mobilis<strong>in</strong>g res<strong>our</strong>ces<br />

through <strong>in</strong>dividual member company <strong>in</strong>itiatives <strong>and</strong><br />

collaborative partnerships with governments <strong>and</strong> NGOs.<br />

We cont<strong>in</strong>ually look to strengthen these partnerships <strong>and</strong><br />

explore new opportunities, as well as extend <strong>our</strong> own<br />

Responsible S<strong>our</strong>c<strong>in</strong>g activities <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>itiatives such as the<br />

Nescafé Plan <strong>and</strong> the <strong>Nestlé</strong> Cocoa Plan.<br />
