Operat<strong>in</strong>g for five years, Healthy<br />
Kids Chile currently benefits more<br />
than 20 000 children from different<br />
cities. The programme is<br />
supported by the M<strong>in</strong>istry of<br />
Education <strong>and</strong> other educational<br />
bodies. In <strong>2015</strong>, the programme<br />
<strong>in</strong>cluded an e-learn<strong>in</strong>g module for<br />
teachers <strong>and</strong> also started an<br />
improvement of physical<br />
education classes programme.<br />
In 2016, Healthy Kids Chile will<br />
cont<strong>in</strong>ue to exp<strong>and</strong>.<br />
Healthy Kids Portugal was <strong>in</strong>itially<br />
developed <strong>in</strong> 1999 <strong>in</strong> collaboration<br />
with the Nutrition Faculty<br />
(Universidade de Oporto), the<br />
Directorate General of Education<br />
<strong>and</strong> the M<strong>in</strong>istry of Education <strong>and</strong><br />
Science. In <strong>2015</strong>, the programme<br />
benefited 367 000 children from<br />
4 to 12 years old.<br />
S<strong>in</strong>ce 2012, Healthy Kids Kenya<br />
has been implemented ma<strong>in</strong>ly <strong>in</strong><br />
primary schools <strong>in</strong> Nairobi. The<br />
programme focuses on kids<br />
between 6 <strong>and</strong> 12 years old, <strong>in</strong><br />
collaboration with the M<strong>in</strong>istry of<br />
Education <strong>and</strong> the Kenya Institute<br />
of Curriculum Development. In<br />
<strong>2015</strong>, the programme reached<br />
around 250 000 kids. Its expansion<br />
has also been designed <strong>in</strong> t<strong>and</strong>em<br />
with <strong>Nestlé</strong>’s Nescafé Plan<br />
<strong>in</strong>itiative <strong>in</strong> Kenya.<br />
Healthy Kids Ch<strong>in</strong>a, also known as<br />
the Ch<strong>in</strong>ese Children’s Nutrition &<br />
Health Education Project, reached<br />
1 million children <strong>in</strong> <strong>2015</strong>. Thanks<br />
to collaboration with nutrition <strong>and</strong><br />
academic <strong>in</strong>stitutions, as well as<br />
the Local Centre for Disease<br />
Control <strong>and</strong> Prevention (CDC),<br />
the programme also provides<br />
scientific evidence for related<br />
national departments <strong>in</strong> develop<strong>in</strong>g<br />
nutrition education measures.<br />
