Die „Data Access Services (DAS)“ waren eine Zusammenstellung<br />
aus dem „Distributed File Manager (DFM)“ für OS/2<br />
V2 und dem ZugriffsAPI RLIO (Record Level I/O). Es handelte<br />
sich also um eine AnwendungsMiddleware, die nach<br />
den Vorgaben der „<strong>IBM</strong> <strong>System</strong> Anwendungs Architektur<br />
(SAA)“ verschiedene Anwendungsteile auf unterschiedlichen<br />
Betriebssystemen miteinander kommunizieren lassen<br />
konnte, sofern die geforderte SchnittstellenKompatibilitäten<br />
vorhanden waren (DDM/LU6.22 ).<br />
In der Version ADSM V1.1 gab es eine Reihe von Anwendungen,<br />
die für die Datensicherung mit ADSM getestet<br />

DB2/6000 provides an online backup of log and data to<br />
a remote MVS or VM system using ADSTAR Distributed<br />
<strong>Storage</strong> Manager.<br />
<strong>IBM</strong> LAN File Services/ESA [vormals WLFS/VM d. A]<br />
Customers using LAN File Services/ESA to distribute data<br />
objects will now be able to protect their data with ADSTAR<br />
Distributed <strong>Storage</strong> Manager.<br />
<strong>IBM</strong> DFSMS/VM uses ADSTAR Distributed <strong>Storage</strong> Manager<br />
to provide migration support for its SMS-managed<br />
storage hierarchy.<br />

The Norton Backup for Windows. Windows V3.1 users will<br />
now be able to backup their data to ADSTAR Distributed<br />
<strong>Storage</strong> Manager using the popular Norton Backup for<br />
Windows interface.<br />
Additionally, <strong>IBM</strong> has tested the ADSTAR Distributed<br />
<strong>Storage</strong> Manager backup/archive clients with the following<br />
database products for support of offline database backup<br />
