Forester of Holland and West Friesland; Director of the <strong>Dutch</strong> East India<br />
Company, patron of the Bataafsch Genootschap. Married 1740 to Kenau Deynoot.<br />
Cabinet of birds, shells, zoophytes, insects, etc. (Jutting 1939, p. 203:<br />
"Museum Geversianum sive Index Rerum Naturalium, etc." 1787. A famous item<br />
was the "Gloria maris". This shell came from the cabinet Leers (q.v.). The<br />
cabinet was sold Rotterdam 1787. Catalogue by F .C. Meuschen (Latin and<br />
French, Rotterdam 1787, ca. 650 pags.) in "Artis" nr. 135. Vosmaer 1790; Hagen<br />
