in chemistry at a secondary school at Naarden.<br />

He travelled much and collected zoological specimens, a.o. birds and shells<br />

from all over the world for the Zool. Mus. Amsterdam, In 1920 he collected<br />

at the Mediterranean coast along the Riviera, along the French side of the<br />

Channel, in 1921 in the region between Grenoble and la Grave (France), in<br />

1922 on the Isle of Man. In 1926 he undertook a journey to the Himalaya and<br />

to Travancore making collections for the Zool. Mus. Amsterdam. In 1937 a<br />

collection of shells was presented to the Museum at Enschede. He was the<br />

author of a dozen papers on <strong>Dutch</strong> mollusca between 1912 and 1922. Jutting<br />

with portr. His collection will go to RMNH in due time.<br />
