He possessed an elabotate museum, including 799 stuffed birds, prepared by
himself, 102 skeletons and a collection of living animals, His cabinet was
sold 1841. Sale catalogue: "Nomenclature systematique du cabinet d'histoire
naturelle et d'anatomie generale de feu Monsieur S.H.W. van Trigt, chirurgien
a Dordrecht". His bird paintings (256 fine plates and sketches of 199

of them, and a collection of Microlepidoptera, was presented to the
