of which C.G.C. Reinwardt (q.v.) was the Director. Sandra and J. d'Ailly
(q.v,) were his assistants.

His cabinet was bought for the Prince of Orange. Together with the cabinet
of Vosmaer (q.v.) it seems to have been the basis for the cabinet of the

with Abr. IJpelaar (q.v.) he founded the house of business A. IJpelaar
& Co,
They made more than 20 large cabinets for rich amateurs (a.o. one for the
collection of Louis Napoleon (q.v.)). Each cabinet contained several hundreds
of microscopical objects, such as small insects, scales of fishes, parts of
insects, sections of wood, zoophytes, sea-shells, etc. The largest of these
